These are very powerful belt conveyors intended for underground coal and other mines. The advantage is small built-in dimensions (regarding the transported quantity and performance). Belt conveyors can work in an environment with the risk of explosion of gases and coal dust. In addition to standard speeds, conveyors can be equipped with a device for smooth controlled speed of transport and, in this connection, also a device for transporting people. With individual speed modes for full mining, mining with passenger transport and passenger transport according to the relevant regulations in force in the customer’s countries. Automation of the belt conveyor and the entire belt line is a matter of course. Automation enables monitoring of belt conveyor parameters (vibration, temperature and oil level in gearboxes, temperature and vibration of bearing housings, deflection, longitudinal rupture, speed of belt coating, speed of traction drums, etc.). It also controls the operation of the entire transport line with possible visualization on the surface – dispatch. The basic parts of the belt conveyor include: a boom with a flow straightener, a guide roller frame, a drive, an embedded drive, a belt cover magazine, a tensioning device, a return station with an impact stool.

High-performance belt conveyors are intended for transporting bulk materials with a maximum transported quantity of 2,100 t/h and with a maximum installed power of 3 x 400 kW. The drive drum is lined with rubber or equipped with a ceramic layer. Electric motors are air- or water-cooled, gearboxes are water-cooled. At the customer’s request, the gearboxes can be supplied in an air-cooled version, but only up to a power of 350 kW. Conveyors are equipped with an electro-hydraulic tensioning device as standard, but pneumatic tensioning, sensors for monitoring the temperature of the drive drums, the return cylinder and the discharge station can also be supplied. Based on the customer’s requirements, it is possible to supplement the equipment of the conveyor with sensors for checking the revolutions of the return station, the temperature of the gearboxes and motors, the deflection of the belt, an anti-reverse device, a belt magazine and other equipment. Conveyors can be operated at a speed of 2.0 – 5.25 m/s, at inclinations from с +18о to -12о.

These devices can be classified as medium-power belt conveyors up to a maximum power of 3 x 90 kW. The transport speed is 1.6 to 3.5 m/s. Conveyors are adapted for routes with temporary mucking. The drive drums are lined with rubber or equipped with a ceramic layer. Depending on its length, the conveyor is tensioned either mechanically, or a tensioning station with mechanical tensioning is used, or weight, electrohydraulic or air tensioning is used. Conveyors can be supplemented with a belt magazine. One brake is supplied as standard. The transmissions are air-cooled and two-speed, the engines are also air-cooled. At the customer’s request, the conveyors can be fitted with sensors for the temperature of the return and discharge drum, belt deflection, speed of the return station and others.

FRONT WIPERS
The conveyor belt wiper STARCLEAN type 620/622 is used to clean the conveyor belt from the transported material directly at the drop on the dropping drum. This type of wiper can be used on reverse belt conveyors. The wiper segments are pressed against the surface of the conveyor belt on the drum in a defined manner, thereby removing dirt residues (adherent material during rapid belt movement). Different segments are used according to the way the products are used. type: WIPER 724-xx.82V.xx. Drum wiper from 300 mm conveyor with torsional tensioning device with polyurethane segments in design for SM2.
BLADE WIPERS
STARCLEAN conveyor belt wipers type 960/962 and 970/972 are used to clean the surface of the conveyor belt of transported material behind the drop drum. Wiper segments of these types consist of a polyurethane base and a carbide blade connected to it. Type 50 and 56 segments are not suitable for reverse belt conveyors. Polyurethane feet intended for use, e.g. in mining during deep mining, are made of loose material. The feet for general industries have no other special features. Carbide squeegees type 50 and 56 are of different designs. They consist of a stainless steel holder to which a carbide insert is connected. The type 50 has a carbide insert in the holder and the type 56 has it mounted on the holder. type: WIPER 972.50.v. Wiper for the conveyor track with screw tensioning and with polyurethane holders of hard metal segments in an industrial design.

STARCLEAN conveyor belt wipers type 240 are used to clean the lower branch of the belt conveyor from the dropped transported material, mainly in front of the return station, overflow, drive and container with tensioning device. The main purpose of these wipers is to prevent the transported material from being drawn between the drum and the belt cover and damaging them. type: WIPER 240.02v. Wiper for the conveyor track with double-sided pressure and polyurethane wiper blades for the SM2 environment.

Flow regulator
It is a universal overflow with the possibility of directing the flow of coal between individual belt conveyors in the range of 0° – 145°. The flow regulator is manufactured in a standard design or can be designed according to the customer’s wishes and according to local conditions. The flow regulator is completely lined with abrasion-resistant HARDOX material. The wear-resistant plates of the flow regulator are very easily replaceable, making it a universal overflow with the possibility of straightening the flow of coal between individual belt conveyors in the range of 0° – 145°. The equipment includes wipers, sprinklers, dust extractors including complete housing. Height – the distance from the belt cover to the axis of the boom drum is indicated.

Inserted intermediate drive
Inserted intermediate drives are placed in long conveyors in places with a high tension in the belt. Thanks to these drives, a better power distribution along the entire belt conveyor is solved. The intermediate drive forms a compact unit including the overflow part with guide and run-off rollers (for better guidance of the coating belt). The intermediate drive drums have standard dimensions like the drive drums in the conveyor. Inserted itermediate drives are produced in 500, 1000, 1500 kW (gearbox power on the drum) versions, always as two-drum versions, and in versions for conveyors with a width of 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800 mm. The overflow is solved with sprung impact trestles or, according to the customer’s wishes, it is possible to use impact beds. The sides of the spillway are lined with replaceable Hardox plates. The inserted intermediate drive can be supplemented with a cover for a dust-free version of the conveyor (dust removal cover, spraying).

Solid impact stools – STOOLS are made of plastic impact sheets. Impact sheets are supplied in lengths of 1240 mm to 1824 mm and in widths of 55 mm and 75 mm. These impact stools can be supplied for all types of belt tracks so that they form a single unit. Spring-loaded impact stools – In this type of impact stool, the trestles are sprung to partially absorb the impact energy of the rubble.

Discharge station
Discharge stations of heavy conveyors are supplied in several basic designs. Either as a hooded VTK discharge point, which pours directly into the magazine, or onto another conveyor with a large discharge height. Here, great emphasis is placed on directing the flow of coal vertically downwards. Of course, high-quality wipers and a sprinkle of coal are included. Automatic central lubrication is also supplied as standard. We equip the discharge stations with heating and the bearings with a special lubricant so that they can work at temperatures of ± 40°C. The hooded discharge can also be sealed and equipped with a dust removal device. A common discharge point, i.e. a discharge head with a VTA-type stand, is supplied in three height designs (see examples of overflow). The height design must be chosen with regard to the profile of the mine and the own solution of the overburden, i.e. straight or at an angle. Drum diameters are standard ø 800mm, ø812mm, ø1000mm, ø1012mm, ø1250mm, ø1262mm, ø1600mm and ø1612mm. The drums are made of smooth metal, rubberized, with a rubber-ceramic surface or ceramic. Drum bearings are located in bearing housings that are attached to the support frame of the boom. Only SKF or FAG bearings are used.
Discharge stations are supplied for conveyors with a width of 1200 – 1800 mm. All station drums are designed for maximum force ratios in the conveyor and controlled by the finite element method. The stations can be equipped with a device against the reverse movement of the conveyor.
